It's strange to find out that I've had this journal for over a year now!! I didn't think it was that long ago, earlier this year at the earliest.

So what is this journal? Am I going to keep it going? If so what am I going to post here?

Well I, for over a year, thought of doing my own writing once again. I created a blogger blog called Crimson Writer to this exact thing.

So I'm thinking of using my blog here for the same thing. Mish-Mash my pastimes and life as I see fit at the time. I hope to track down and post my reams of fanfiction I previously wrote here whenever I find the darn things.

So I am 41 years old, I am disabled due to a combination of different problems. From congenital spinal deformities, scoliosis, to Rheumatoid Arthritis to Fibromyalgia & IBS among my health problems.

I am single and live with my elderly parents, I have one sibling a younger brother who is a Primary School teacher but is also a fully qualified accountant who is married to another teacher and they have three boys. The eldest just began Secondary School in August, the youngest has just began his last year at preschool. The middle one has began his fourth year at Primary School.

School pick ups as hectic with all three attending different schools. This should settle down next year as the youngest moves up to Primary School and will be at the same school as his older brother until he moves onto Secondary School.

Just trying to get used to the influx of physiotherapy exercises I have had added to my daily routine. It's been hard and extremely difficult to try to get them all done, the energy just isn't there to do the current combined amount of exercises. So I'm struggling quite a bit. According to the OT at the hospital a couple of weeks ago when I went through another assessment it would take while to build up to the total required amount of exercises so not to worry it would come in time as long as I didn't give up, it would gradually get easier and I would be able to advance to the point that I will manage to do all the required amount of repetitions, the required repetitions per day, I will eventually get there.

Not in the foreseeable future, but eventually. It'll be hard work and I'm starting to feel the strain of it, so I am back-peddling and not doing as many reps each time or daily so I can then gradually increase as I'm physically able to do so.

So unfortunately a lot of my time is spent struggling to and from appointments, doing said exercises and battling the increase in fatigue and all out exhaustion I'm experiencing.

My hands are badly impaired and the OT measured them at less than 10% strength/ability that they should be. So I have several exercises plus contrast bathing exercises to do several times a day and the increase of pain/stiffness is making typing more than a little difficult so I am typing rarely which is impacting on my various blogs with me trying to split my limited typing time between them so no one blog becomes abandoned.

So I'm still around just not able to interact much unfortunately.

So, I have been trying to track down some of my fan fiction, unfortunately the disks I have them saved on are inaccessible to me currently, at the time I was actively writing fan fiction - about a decade ago now - I didn't have a CD burner so all my fic as well as my various website backups were all saved and done a back-up on zip disks.

I still own a zip drive but it has been packed away for the better part of a decade now, as have the disks, so finding it would be no easy feat as I know disks and drive were packed away separately and in different locations. Due to house renovations done my the local council, various clean outs and decorating many things packed away have been moved multiple times in the last few years. I have a storage box, in our shed out in the garden, with computer supplies where my drive could be packed away in or the most likely other place would be in our attic which I can't physically enter due to my disabilities.

I'm spending a lot of time using my Mum's Acer Aspire laptop these days. To do everything from normal browsing, to writing posts and have installed my word processing program Atlantis today so I can hopefully begin working on my non-blogger-type writing on it as well.

At the moment I actually feel more comfortable typing on the laptop when trying to type longer pieces. Even my new - and wonderful - Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and mouse I feel uncomfortable writing for more than a couple of minutes. I have found this doesn't happen so quickly, and in some instances very rarely, while using the laptop.

I started using the laptop more frequently because my Mum wanted it to be used more often than her previous computer, her small net-book, which she gave to my middle nephew when she upgraded to this laptop, and so that it doesn't sit around in the bag waiting on the short periods she uses it. I didn't use her net-book very frequently and only really used it when she had something she wanted me to fix for her or when we babysat or had to stay in at my brother's house for several hours to await delivery and such.

She wanted this computer to be used and get her money's worth out of it rather than sit inside the bag waiting for the half a dozen - at the most - times she used it on either a weekly or bi-weekly period.

All I know is it's more comfortable for me to use and also as it mostly gets stored in my bedroom when my Mum isn't actively using it, well it can be a big life saver for me when I am suffering from a particularly extended period of insomnia or am too uncomfortable or in too much pain to sleep at night and the early hours. I have access to the web or can read or even use it jot down notes and write drafts for blog posts. A whole lot better than lying awake all night just hoping I'll drop unexpectedly. Now that makes for a very long and boring painful night.

I am also looking into recording videos to use on my blogs via You Tube with the built in webcam and using free/basic editing software to edit and compress it for possible posting. Or as a video diary to myself. I sat in front of it on Saturday when I was home alone and rambling into the webcam on and off for a couple of hours and even if I don't edit, compress and post it I found the time spent just talking, even if it was just to myself via webcam, as pretty therapeutic.

Happy New Year and welcome to 2012.

I had to start my new year with dreamwidth by requesting a new password as I had forgotten mine, completely typical of me to be honest.

It's almost 1am where I am here in Scotland but as usual I am trying to relax - or exhaust - myself enough to get some sleep. It all really depends on my pain level at the moment as my exercises given to me after my physiotherapy assessment on the 22nd of December have only so far aggravated my 'good' shoulder and increased the pain and stiffness in my 'bad' shoulder as well. Wonderful.

Again, just typical given my luck.

I am fervently hoping that my occupational therapy appointment for assessment there comes through in the New Year as there has been no sign of it at all since my initial short interview at the hospital with the OT on the 31st October. In fact I was referred to the OT not the PT, so it's frustrating that only the PT has been started. In fact I'm becoming very concerned that my appointment for a full assessment hasn't happened, the PT was brought in by the OT I saw at the hospital in October and yet only a PT appointment has turned up in the 2 months since. I think it's been overlooked or just plain forgotten as I should've had at least an appointment through even if I was waiting on a long list.

I'll bring it up with my PT in two weeks when I am due back again. Also I need to ask why he didn't include my Fibromyalgia in my assessment and only assessed me on the grounds on my congenital spinal deformities and RA. Doesn't help that I don't feel really comfortable with the PT I have been referred to - I was supposed to see the female PT I saw at the hospital but instead was assessed and seemingly been put on the list with a younger male PT. So the fact that A - he's at least a decade younger than me and B - he's a male PT, I am not very comfortable with him especially if I feel the need to discuss the more personal feminine aspects of my disabilities.

Just a quick post to wish all visitors a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

My health has been flaring a lot with the frigid weather here in Scotland and unfortunately has impacted on my well being negatively. So fingers-crossed I will be able to post more often in the New Year. I'm looking forward to trying out my new ergonomic Microsoft keyboard/mouse set my parents are giving me for Christmas, if it ever actually turns up that is!! Dispatched on Friday night and scanned out of the collection depot on it's way to the depot outside my city, still hasn't arrived by the tracking feature on both Amazon and City Link itself. Still both have December 17th as the delivery date!!

So, have a great festive season and hopefully I'll be posting more frequently in the New Year!

I was happy to find out that a new Breeds novel by Lora Leigh was due for release within days. Unfortunately finding a seller who had it listed and available to sell to a UK buyer has had me about pulling out my hair.

I have been experiencing the same problem tracking all of Jaime Rush's paranormal series as well as ebooks to buy from the UK. I can find books three and four but not books one and two available as ebooks for buying from the UK.

As for Lora Leigh's book so far I can only pre-order Kindle format, I thought I 'd lucked out with Kobo when I followed a link from the overseas seller to a page on kobo books site which was quoting th r same price in UK pounds for the book but when I attempted to purchase it I was infromed that this title was not available for sale to my county.

I wanted to buy via Kobo for two reasons, the dirst being he price was the same as the Kindle format Amazon is taking pre-orders for now but secondly and more importantly to me any way is the fact I have money already in my Kobo account that could cover the cost of buying this book. I put my ebook budget to kobo bookstore this month so I wont have the funds to add any to my amazon account until January at the earliest when I choose where that month's budget is to go.

I have not disappeared, nor have I abandoned this blog. Real life has a nasty habur of interfering with all else. Unfortunately I haven't been keeping in the best of health either. So that hasn't helped matters anyway.

Good news is that I am gradually getting back into the swing of things. Albeit at a much slower pace than was my norm.

Currently I am checking out a livejournal client usable with dreamwidth called ElJay.

At the moment it only supports one account and I am using it on my DW account. That said the developer says they hope to have multiple accounts by the end of October and seeing as the app is being regularly updated they might just manage to do so.

Well, my little tablet has arrived. I've been playing around with it for about a week and a half now, 'm still trying to get a handle on it. Apart from a few small niggles I am enjoying it so far.

I've left the protective plastic cover that is put on the screen during packaging to save my screen from damage from either my fingers/nails or the stylus before I get an actual screen protector. My case with built in keyboard is supposed to come with a free screen protector so I should have that early in the next week. I should've gotten it at the beginning of this past week but it took Royal Mail a week from posting date to inform me that the supplier had failed to put sufficient postage on the package and another 24 hours after making up the card stating how much I'll need to pay to get my item through my letterbox to inform me of this. I paid on lunchtime Thursday online and was told my package would be delivered within 2 to 3 working days. So Tuesday at the latest, annoying as it's sitting in the local depo less than 10 minutes from my home and they should've been informed I had paid the under postage (plus the £1 admin fee) within a few minutes of them receiving payment for the fee.

Unfortunately the blogging based apps for use with my journals and blogs aren't compatible with my generic budget brand of tablet according to the google marketplace which is a bit disappoiinting but I guess I'll just have to update by web browser when using my tablet. In fact this is an error with Goggle Marketplace when registering my device, I have since downloaded a few apps that their android marketplace state as incompatible elsewhere with no problems with either install or using. Unfortunately none of these other marketplaces have the blogging apps available so I can't get them that way.

But apart from the mislabelling of my device and Google Marketplace stopping me from downloading and trying apps they decide should be incompatible I'm enjoying testing out the Android system although I've only used my tablet to browse online and test out a few apps.

Well, I've taken the plunge and bought an cheap entry level tablet for internet browsing and blogging when away from my desktop.

It's in no way similar to the likes of iPads and Galaxy Tabs but hopefully it will do me fine for my limited needs. At just under £90 total if it does I'll be happy. It has to be an improvement on trying to browse and blog via the small screen of my iPod touch.

I've also been searching out some my fanfiction via online archives which I gave permission to, I have found a few of my Cordelia/Angel shipper fics (though not nearly all of them), at the Angel's Oasis Archive. So hopefully I will have these titles ready to upload here onto my fanfiction blog soon.

I spent several relaxing hours reading [personal profile] teachwriteslash  Empath Ianto series, I've not read the entire long series of fics but am really enjoying them and am grateful for the opportunity to do so. I've checked out her other fics, series as well as standalone titles, but so far this opus is my favourite of them as well as one of my all time favourite Janto fics.

Also you will also have to do as I did and asked to be added to her friends list to access these stories but it is well worth the added effort and given the problems with LJ in recent months I don't blame her for flocked her journal.

Also Empath Ianto is listed as the "Everything That Rises Must Converge" series and is well worth the wait to be friended for!

Over the years I have been online I have been involved in many different fandoms. Some as just a reader and others as both a reader and a writer.

I tend to gravitate towards a particular pairing, so much so that I can't read/write either character in a relationship with any other character except the one I 'ship'. I guess you can call me a shipper reader/writer.

Over the past decade I have read more fandoms than I can possibly remember, let alone recite here, so I won't attempt to do so.

My name is Lesley-Ann, if you haven't already guessed, and welcome to my fanfiction journal.

I have been reading and writing fanfiction for longer than I care to remember or quite honestly can remember. As child and teenager alike I found it a totally natural progression to attempt to record on paper the stories and adventures my imagination dreamed up centred around my favourite TV shows and  films.

I went from running around my bedroom acting out my various fantasies that my over-active imagination dreamt up to trying to turn them into actual written stories. Not with much success as you can well imagine but it was an important first step in my journey to becoming a fanfic writer.

In the later 90's I splurged on my first computer, a dinosaur which should have been extinct long before I bought to be honest, and gained access to the internet. Something I knew literally nothing about beforehand. Soon I was addicted and to my surprise found many of my long gone TV favourites were still alive and well online within many different formats. One of which felt very familiar to me once I discovered it.

Since then my hobbies and online life has changed and evolved. During this time I've ran several fan-based sites including two devoted completely to fanfiction. I tend to get into a particular 'ship within a fandom (be it canon or fanon in origin) and stick with it. I'm a shipper based fan fiction writer totally.

This journal is to post and chronicle my fanfiction career both past, present and hopefully future.

Although I haven't actively written any fan fiction in over 7 years I haven't stopped reading it. I am currently feeling the pull of my fan fiction muses once more hence the creation of this journal.
